Getting started
Welcome to Tranzo POS. This guide walks you through signing up, your first login, and the essential setup tasks to start ringing up sales within an hour.
Create your account
Head to tranzopos.com/register. You'll need:
- Your business name (this appears on receipts and eTIMS)
- Your email (login + password reset)
- A phone number (for M-Pesa and customer contact)
Accept the terms, set a password, and you're in. No credit card required for the 14-day trial.
Pick your plan
Tranzo POS has three plans:
| Plan | Price/mo | Shops | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | KES 2,900 | 1 | Single-location shops, small cafés |
| Growth | KES 7,900 | Up to 5 | Multi-location retail, small chains |
| Enterprise | KES 19,900 | Unlimited | Distribution, multi-brand operators |
All plans include the 14-day trial. After trial, you'll receive an invoice by email — we'll ship auto-pay via M-Pesa and Pesapal as soon as Safaricom completes their review of our integration.
Set up your first shop
On first login you're prompted to create your default shop. A shop represents a physical location — branch, kiosk, or till. You can add more shops later (plan-limited).
What to fill in
- Shop name — customers see this on receipts
- Address — county and town are enough
- KRA PIN — your company's tax ID (required for eTIMS)
- eTIMS Branch ID — assigned by KRA per physical location; leave blank if you haven't been assigned one yet
Add your first products
From the drawer → Inventory → + New product. Add at least a name, selling price, and shop. See the Inventory guide for CSV import and bulk image upload.
Invite your team
Drawer → Staff → + New staff. Three roles:
- Owner — everything (you, by default)
- Manager — day-to-day operations, reports, inventory, customers
- Cashier — POS + own shift + own sales only
See Roles & permissions for a full breakdown.
Ring up your first sale
Drawer → POS. Tap a product tile, add to cart, tap Pay. Choose cash, M-Pesa, or card. Done. Full walkthrough in the POS basics guide.
